Thomas Kleeberg
OVERVIEW:
Tom has spent 40+ years prospecting for base and precious metals in the lucrative Carolina Terrane (formerly the Carolina Slate Belt). Prior to starting Goldstrike Minerals, he produced and managed turn-key gold exploration programs for major mining and exploration companies such as Noranda, Battle Mountain, Meridian Minerals (Burlington Northern RR), and New Jersey Zinc, including prospect generation and supervision of both grass roots and site specific projects. He has consulted for NASA generating satellite NIR reflectance anomalies over gold-copper permissive alteration in the Carolina Terrane.
GOLD and BASE METALS Production:
Tom was a Co-founder and VP of Piedmont Mining Co at the Haile Gold Mine (now a world class 4 million+ oz gold deposit) during development, permitting, and construction of the first heap-leach gold mine in the Eastern US, 1985. Tom also raised funding for, constructed and received permits for a mill and froth flotation plant in 1990 to process ore from the historic Silver Hill Mine.
OTHER PROJECTS:
Companies for whom Tom has generated model-specific precious metals targets include Newmont Mining, BHP Minerals, FMC Corp, MineFinders, Corona Corp, Romarco Minerals, and others. Consulting clients included Kimberly-Clark, Behre-Dolbear and Associates, International Nickel and Copper, Watts Griffis & McOuat Ltd. and Gulf Resources & Chemical at the Higdon Mine in Missouri. For several years he managed programs in the refractory mineral business developing deposits of pyrophyllite, andalusite, and sericite, some of which serendipitously have a direct connection to adjacent gold deposits.
Tom is a Geology graduate of North Carolina State University, 1974. He resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
